In general a good habit is to store ICE contacts in mobile, also it must become a practice that mobile users should create ICE contacts in their contact/address book. However the iPhone users are always ahead in using the technology & they are rewarded back with applications which makes their ownership worth for the buy.

My iPhone application In Case of Emergency is doing well since the launch in Febraury 2009, I have been updating this application since then, according to the user feedback, importance & scope of the application. The latest ICE version is 2.5.

Having one question always in my mind that, what is the effectiveness of the ICE application? when the phone is in off mode or the Medical and Police personals never give importance to the ICE app & ICE contacts inside the phone, following this thought, ICE app is now updated with a feature to set your personal information details like name, address, blood group, date of birth, ICE1, ICE2, ICE3, Doctor, current health & medications & finally the willingness to say your are an organ donor. On entering personal information & choosing your Photo, My Info page gives you a ICE card design with option to save as image. It is also easy to make many such ICE card’s  for your family members & friends by laminating & gift it.

In Case of Emergency Card Size, There is no size to be followed as long as the card can be inserted into your wallet. however here is the standard (ISO) size of a credit card or ID card, it is 85.60(Width) X 53.98 mm(Height) (3.370 X 2.125 in), the ICE card image saved from ICE app can also be printed to the same size or with same ratio, Doing a pouch lamination is fair enough & this laminated card life can be anything between 5 years to 10 years.

This physical laminated card or just a paper printout will be sufficient enough for medics & police authorities to act on emergency situation for you.
